Stadium Park
Park by the stadium. Mixed forest on hills above the main lake.
The park by the stadium occupies hills above the great water. Old mixed forest here gives way to open clearings and shrubs with views over the lake. This is a convenient point for combining woodland birds and waterbirds without a long walk from town.
In spring great tits and blue tits sing in the canopy, and hawfinch appears in the shrubs. Grey herons and ducks stand by the water, and terns and gulls circle over the lake. In autumn jays and woodpeckers gather food in the park, and gull flocks appear by the shore. Early morning is especially good for watching from the hill.
Practical tips
- Best early in the morning, when forest and shore birds are active at once.
- From the hill you can see a wide stretch of water. Standing still makes distant flocks easier to follow.
- The park is easy to reach on foot from central Yahotyn.
Best season: March–May and September–November
